August Boating Holidays on the Norfolk Broads

Summer time on the Norfolk Broads means you can fill the long warm days doing as much or as little as you like. Spend your holiday slowly cruising along picturesque waterways or stop off to explore both the heritage and modern life of this unique National Park.

August is a popular month on the Broads waterways with a number of regattas and sailing events taking place that include Horning Week, Oulton Week, Hickling Broad Village Open, Punt Club and the Round the Island Race.

History lovers may choose to spend their holiday indulging in a visit to the third century Burgh castle or St. Benet’s Abbey at Horning, Horsey Wind Pump or the Museum of the Broads at Stalham Staithe.

August is also an ideal time to watch the diverse wildlife of the area. There are a huge number of walks, of differing lengths, which meander along the riverside, around Broads and through marshlands and reed beds. August is also the month for the Hunstanton Kite Festival and Wayland Agricultural Show.
